We all have been forced to take the digital way of life these days, whether we like it or not. Now with the nationwide coronavirus lockdown and the obvious domination of the Internet, many of us are working from home. But if you currently have no or little work, you can too take to the Net to earn money or supplement already existing income. we list out various ways to earn money online.
01. The freelance fix
JustAnswer isn’t the only company looking for more workers. There was a 24% increase in freelance jobs available from March to April, according to FlexJobs, a job search website that specializes in remote, part-time and freelance positions.
“Although the pandemic has driven overall unemployment numbers up dramatically, that’s not the case with remote work,” FlexJobs Career Development Manager Brie Weiler Reynolds said. “Across the board, remote jobs are really strong. Freelancers let companies fill a need that may be temporary or project-specific, without having to take on the added expense of a long-term employee.”
FlexJobs analyzed its database of more than 54,000 companies that offer remote work options to highlight the companies with the most job postings as of May. Reynolds said there’s a major hiring surge in customer service jobs, which are often a natural fit for people with experience in the pandemic-leveled travel and tourism industries.
Other sites that help you sell your skills and work from home include WFH Pad, which has vacancies for app testers, translators and online jurors. Anyone with fast fingers on a keyboard can earn money transcribing recorded conversations or adding captions to videos online at Rev.com.
“A lot of people don’t realize that freelance salaries are often higher than full-time jobs,” Reynolds said. “Most of these entry-level positions right now are in the $12-$20-an-hour range and higher, depending on where you live.”
02. PAID SURVEYS
It’s like a penny for your thoughts…but IRL? On sites like Swagbucks and SurveyJunkie, Canadians can get paid to answer questions for companies about branding techniques, their favourite products, overall product design preference etc. While the pay isn’t a lot, it’s a simple way to voice an opinion on something while making a little extra pocket change. Much like the other techniques above, paid surveying is super non-committal and easy to do from your phone.
Some problems with survey sites like these are that it takes some time to do enough surveys to create a large income, so it should definitely be taken as a secondary hustle. With Swagbucks, surveys actually transfer toward points that add up to receiving $25 gift cards towards Pay Pal and Wal Mart, which is great for getting groceries but not so great if the only other available options are Starbucks, Nike, or Amazon.
03. Start teaching online classes
There’s been an explosion of free content online in recent days, aimed at kids and adults stuck inside. But you don’t have to keep it all free. Creatives have a wealth of desirable skills that people at home will be keen to learn, so why not create content for online education websites like Udemy or Skillshare?
You can sell your courses to the people taking advantage of all this inside time to learn new things. All you need is a decent smartphone camera to film yourself teaching. There are thousands of courses already uploaded, which cover creative topics from photography to web design, and you could join the mix. 04. Write Articles
One of the easiest and fastest ways to start making money online is by writing articles through freelance writing sites. The concept is simple: Websites and brands need new site content all the time and they are willing to pay outside writers to get the work done. To make this process easier, sites like textbroker allow anyone to join their site and sign up as a writer or a client. Writers can log in, write articles and get paid for their time, while clients can continually add new projects. Hundreds of dollars are earned daily from writers on this site alone!
5. Start a YouTube Channel
YouTube is a video streaming platform that is more or less considered an online university. You can earn money from being a YouTuber because YouTube pays its active users who have been able to garner subscriptions from those who find their content useful. Once you download the app and sign up, you can go ahead to create a channel that is streamlined to what you are passionate about. The more subscribers and views you get, the more you earn.
06. Sell your photographs
If you’re interested in photography or have lots of photographs on your hard drive, why not try selling them online? Businesses are creating a lot more online content at the moment, so the right images and themes could help you earn some money. Rather than uploading a lot of landscapes and only selling what you have, take a look at the kinds of images that business websites, news websites, and blogs have been using over the last few weeks. Try to shoot images around those themes and stay on top of what’s in demand at the moment.
